The AI Operations Specialist
Live todayIn the cloud products
Ask in plain English. It answers from live data, then drafts the purchase orders, transfers and sales orders your team builds by hand, and waits for your approval.
AI at Fishbowl
Ask what's short and the purchase orders are drafted. Ask what sells next quarter and the forecast comes from your own history. Nothing is saved until you click. Here is how it works, and why it's built differently.
How a feature ships
Built on your records
Twenty years of inventory and manufacturing data behind every question. One question, asked two ways.
"Can we ship all 100 on SO-4471 this week?"
It reads your live records: on hand, committed, in transit, each vendor's lead time. Nothing exported, nothing pasted in.
It reads what you typed, and whatever you pasted in.
It sends the question to the tool built for that job. This one goes to orders and purchasing, not to a general chat.
One general model handles every kind of question.
The math is done by calculation on your numbers, never by the language model. Ask twice, you get the same number.
The model writes the number. Ask twice, you may get two.
You get the answer, the rows it used, and a drafted PO for the short part. Nothing saves until you click Approve.
You get a paragraph. The PO is still yours to build.
If a lead time or a cost is missing, it says so. It doesn't fill the gap.
If something is missing, it guesses.
And it doesn't wait to be asked. When a shortage is forming, an order is slipping or a number looks wrong, it tells you, says why, and preps the fix. Same login, same permissions, in the screen you're already on.
What it does for you
You get answers from your stock, orders and books as they stand right now, so you can say yes or no while the customer is still on the phone.
You can hand the keying to the AI Operations Specialist and still catch a wrong quantity before the vendor sees it.
You see the rows behind every number, so you can check it before you act and defend it in the ops meeting.
Live today
Built into the products you already run, so the value shows up in the screens where the work happens. Fishbowl Inventory → Manufacturing → QuickBooks →

Forecasting
Forecast each item from your own sales history, so you can set the next buy without rebuilding the spreadsheet. The thing the one person who knew used to carry in their head, on a screen anyone can open.
Demand by item and location, projected from what you actually sold, with seasonality and trend in it.
When the forecast moves, the reorder point and the PO timing move with it. You buy for the season coming.

Data and permissions
Six sentences you can check.
The AI Operations Specialist and the assistant connection run with the permissions of the Fishbowl user asking. No role gets a wider view through AI than it has in the app.
Check it: ask the AI Operations Specialist, or your connected assistant, for a location your user can't open.
Reads never need confirmation. Every write shows a summary first and saves only on an explicit go-ahead.
Check it: every draft ends at a confirmation card.
Fishbowl will not use Customer Data that is identifiable to Customer to train or improve general-purpose artificial intelligence models.
Check it: Terms and Conditions §17.6, and the "How is Fishbowl using AI?" notice inside the product.
The AI Operations Specialist incorporates third-party AI models under commercial licenses held by Fishbowl, and runs on infrastructure Fishbowl builds and operates. AI augments the decision; a person makes it.
Check it: Terms and Conditions §17.1 and §17.3.
Numbers come from calculations on your data, drafts show the rows they used, and charts are only drawn from sourced data.
Check it: expand "Built from" under any draft, and the source rows under any chart.
Thumbs up or down on any answer goes straight to the team building it, and "The AI Operations Specialist can make mistakes. Verify important numbers before you act on them." stays on screen.
Check it: the feedback control and the caveat line under every reply.
Questions people ask
The AI Operations Specialist runs in the cloud products, Fishbowl Inventory and Fishbowl AI Manufacturing. Demand forecasting, dashboards and plain-English answers from your data run in every Fishbowl product, including Advanced Manufacturing and Advanced Warehouse. The connection to ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants works with Fishbowl Inventory.
Numbers are produced by calculations on your records, not by the language model, and every draft shows the rows it used. When an input is missing, it says so and asks instead of guessing. It still says "verify important numbers before you act on them," because you're the one who knows the customer, the vendor and the floor. If something looks off, thumbs down sends it to the team.
No. If you can type "what's below reorder at the main warehouse?" you can run all of it. The forecasting and dashboards need no prompt at all.
Do the physical work. Picking, packing, shipping and receiving still happen on the floor, by your people with scanners and the mobile app. The AI Operations Specialist can tell you what's waiting, draft the paperwork and flag what's short, but a box moves when a person moves it. It also won't change anything without your click, or guess a lead time or a cost it can't find.
